Golf courses

At Applied Irrigation we have worked on a range of golf courses and have a wealth of experience from small community courses to Open Championship courses. We can work within extremely detailed and strongly enforced parameters as demonstrated on our Machrihanish Dunes irrigation solution that sits on a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Turnberry Golf Courses

This project involved renewing and upgrading the irrigation pipe and cable network to the front of the Turnberry Resort hotel grounds and included the installation of new sprinklers and valve box assemblies to irrigate the turf frontage and flower/shrub garden areas.

Hamilton Golf Club

Working with a consultant, we were tasked with upgrading of selected valve box assemblies and installing new irrigation equipment to greens and teeing areas.

Moffat Golf Club

Here we undertook a system upgrade for an 18-hole course which involved replacing ageing and defective sprinklers.

Play Golf Sports Centre Driving Range

Designed in-house by us, this irrigation system was covered the driver landing area, putting facility, target greens and mounds.

Glasgow Golf Club (Gailes)

This project involved the installation of irrigation to eight walkways and six newly-constructed championship tees on this 18-hole greens, approaches, tees and fairways system.

Turnhouse Golf Club

Project included construction of a new sectional panelled water storage tank, installation of a wall- mounted irrigation controller and a pressurised pumping plant.

The Machrihanish Golf Club

This was an upgrade project to an 18-hole system and involved the replacement of all sprinklers (due to ageing defects), upgrading and replacement of failing valve box assemblies and more.

Monifieth Golf links

Another in-house design, this was a 36-hole mains cable and control system upgrade (connecting to greens, approaches, tees and fairways) installed to replace the courses ageing pipe work and signal cable.

Swanston Golf Course

This was a consultancy-driven 14-hole mains, greens and tees new construction course-extension project and included the installation of a pipe and cable network, wall-mounted irrigation control system and compatible decoder units, skid-mounted pressurised pumping plant and a fibreglass Condor underground water storage tank supplied/filled by a transfer pump from a sump chamber fed by a natural spring.

Machrihanish Dunes Golf Course

Consultancy driven, this 18-hole mains, greens and tees new construction project occupied a Site of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSI) on links land. It included the installation of a pipe and cable network, skid-mounted pressurised pumping plant, internally-constructed sectional panelled water storage tank and state of the art Toro GDC PC control system equipped with radio remote control and weather station monitoring.
